Third week in Barcelona

I haven´t been feeling like writing this week. I don´t know why, but it felt more like an obligation than fun so yeah. There isn´t a lot of emotion and passion in this post, it´s more of a quick overview.

Sunday morning was spent at home. Àlex and I felt really lazy so we didn´t even leave the bed till it was time to visit Àlex´s friends house from the day before. Before leaving Àlex made some chicken with beer and I threw together a salad. Didn´t wanna leave the house hungry 😬

These friends lived in a rooftop apartment with the most amazing view of the Sagrada Familia🙈😻 It was absolutely magnificent during the daytime and didn´t disappoint at nighttime too.

The girl from Brazil was cooking this time and we got to try her country´s traditional food. We started with feijoada which is this stew with rice, black beans and all parts of pork. At first I was terrified 😅 to try it since back at home we usually don´t eat every part of the pig. And I´m not very enthusiastic to eat the heart or kidneys of the pig. I know people eat those, but it´s just not my cup of tea. Anyway when I was finally served and got to try it, I was pleasantly surprised👍 Overall it was very good and I even ate all the beans which I usually dislike. After that we had some salad and pineapple with chocolate. The pineapple was delicious. It´s already one of my favourite fruits, but here it tastes sooo good and sweet, and with chocolate.. YUM😋😋

After the dinner all the other guests started talking about their past together and took a stroll down the memory lane. From that moment I started to feel alone and sad. There were a bit too many people for me at the dinner and when I wasn´t able to talk to anyone or understand anything (they were talking way tooo fast and in catalán which I don´t understand yet) so I felt really left out😞 I knew I could ask them to switch to Spanish, but reminding that every five minutes didn´t feel polite on my part. So half of the night was fun and the other part I felt uncomfortable

On our way back Àlex showed me this hospital (down below) which looks a bit more like a hotel to me.

On Monday we were supposed to go to gym, but didn´t feel like going. I slept through the alarm and got up extremely late. I still felt upset, sad and lonely the whole day. I didn´t wanna do anything and just spent the day in bed or watching Instagram reels on the couch.

On Tuesday I felt better already. The day started with gym and after that Àlex and I had to get ready to leave the house. We were spending the day at his brother´s house so that we could spend some time with his nephews😆 We ate and after that it was time to catch the metro to the city center and after that the train to Castelldefels. On the ride there Àlex found an advert on Instagram about dance classes. So I guess in the autumn well start learning some salsa💃 I´m excited already😁

Flower bush on our way to the train station😍

After arrival we visited this local chicken cafe/restaurant, we ordered chicken and some patatas bravas to go and had lunch at the house. Kids were thrilled to see us and we spent most of the time in the pool. We had so much fun! After that I played 3-4 matches of table tennis with Àlex and visited the local beach. It reminded me a lot of the Pärnu beach. It was a great day😊

On Wednesday Àlex and I went to Cosmo Caixa which is a science center similar to our AHHAA. It was awesome and a lot more scientific. Building itself looked quite small from outside, but was huge on the inside. At first when you enter, you have to lower 6 floors I think, and then you arrive at the arctic part. There you can read about the first trip to the north pole and see a research lab. Also right beside there are some cute little penguins🐧 (fake ones). After that you can enter another room where are all the other attractions. Most of it is very scientific with explanations in 3 languages, but doesn´t seem like a very fun place for younger kids since they won´t understand most of it. They can play with the examples of the scientific part, but besides that in my opinion the only age appropriate part is the live amazonian forest.

After the physics part there are explanations of the human body and how it all got to this point. And then starts the live part. There are some aquariums with small fishes🐠 and a huge one which is part of the amazonian forest. The huge aquarium had the biggest fishes that I have ever seen. Some were bigger then me even!! It was cool and horrifying to know that these creatures live in the ocean. Besides the fishes I could see a caiman, tortoises, capybara and a lot of different birds. All fishes who were in the tank had a net on top because some were carnivores, but birds and capybara were without a cage. One bird even flew over my head. At first I was frightened, but I guess they aren´t hostile😃 At some point Àlex´s friends joined us and we walked with them for some time, but later we parted.

Palm trees on our way back😍

Thursday was one boring day, I only went to the gym and spent most of the day looking through job adverts. Some were fine and I could send out some CV-s, but most of the companies still look for someone with both fluent English and Spanish.

On Friday morning I went to a place called Good Nails by Raffel Pages with Àlex´s mother, where we got a mani-pedi for the wedding💅 The girl there recommended neutral tones so I chose flesh pink. Later I found out that she recommended that because she thought that I was the one getting married😂 I think I expressed myself badly in Spanish and mixed up some words which changed the point of my thoughts completely. Nevertheless my nails look cuteee and I´m still very happy with the result😍 After that I spent some time at the house and then it was time to leave for the Vall Parc. It´s a fancy club where you can play padel/tennis/table tennis, there is a gym, a pool, and a cafe. All this is on top of a huge mountain which gives you a view of all Barcelona. Just incredible!

I had a great first impression so Àlex and I are thinking of changing our gym for this one😁 It´s further than the DiR, but the price is even better for what you´re getting for that money. Anyway I spent my time there sunbathing with Àlex´s mother, he and his brother were playing padel. What a fun day!

Saturday had finally arrived and it was time for the wedding of Àlex´s brother💏 We had a lot to do in the morning so I got up at 8.30. Àlex decided to sleep a bit more so I got started with my make-up. I didn´t want to have too heavy layer of product since the party was going to be outside and I really didn´t want anything melting off or etc💦 I was finished in an hour I think and sealed it all with a lot of setting spray. After that I had to straighten my hair and back a bag for the day. I was on time with everything but then had to deal with Àlex´s problems with his tux. He decided to try it on after a year and half on the morning of the wedding😬😱 So it went like I thought it would and the tux was small. But what do you expect if the tux was bought many kilos before.. I was a bit pissed with him, but there wasn´ anything to do anymore😂 Next time hopefully he´ll listen when I say to try his clothes on earlier. Anyway we finally found something suitable and managed to leave the house.

The wedding took place in a little city called Sitges. It was sooo beautiful there, the main street was filled with palm trees, there were cute little bars and restaurants and people looked happy😍 It felt really nice there. We walked to a church where the ceremony took place and waited everybody to get there. Ceremony itself was small and lovely. After that we went to a restaurant called La Zorra where the reception took place. Food was absolutely delicious😋 And it was justified, as we found out later that the owner of the place was a famous chef who Àlex follows on Youtube. He even got a photo with him😄

Wedding cake😋

I had a lot of fun there and got to talk with Àlex´s friends and family who some I hadn´t seen yet. Later on we had an after party without the kids nor parents in a bar called Pic Nic. It was fun, but a bit lonely cz I wasn´t able to participate in most of the conversations - the music was very loud and since we had had a few drinks, people weren´t pronouncing the words properly and I didn´t understand most of it. We got home late so I fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.

Just before the ceremony

I was very happy with my how my make-up stayed on throughout the day😌 It looked exactly the same at night as it did in the morning. I guess setting spray really does something after all😅
